At the 5th ICLET Keynote Speaker Session, Associate Professor Sedigheh Shakib Kotamjani, Ph.D from Central Asian University, Uzbekistan delivered a speech about "Empowering Teachers, Inspiring Learners: AI in the English Curriculum". The participants were all excited to learn new insights from Associate Professor Sedigheh Shakib Kotamjani, Ph.D are welcomed to share their insight or ask question in this forum:

  • David J. Alcarde Jr:
How can the integration of AI into the English curriculum move beyond being a mere technological aid, to becoming a transformative pedagogical partner that empowers teachers to cultivate critical thinking, creativity, and ethical digital literacy among learners—while also ensuring that equity, cultural relevance, and human agency are not diminished in the process?

  • Nashiva R. Ampuan (MSU-Maigo College of Education, Philippines):
I believe through this AI, teachers can work smarter nowadays, not only harder. If teachers will use AI then how should students themselves be "empowered" to use AI critically and responsibly in their English studies, rather than just passively consuming its outputs?

  • Akinpelu Kolade (Nigeria):
Why do some journals or supervisors discourage the use of AI? Is it because they are not keeping up with the 21st century?

  • Winzell Felongco:
What implications does the academe have to do with the ethical basis or morals of overdependence of AI to their studies?

  • Mrs. Dame Francis Lousie Ersando:
What ethical considerations should teachers keep in mind when using AI to support language learning, especially in assessing student work?

  • Jill Frances Salinas:
With AI becoming embedded in learning and assessment how can teachers design evaluation tasks that move beyond AI generated outputs and truly measure students’ independent critical thinking and creativity?

  • Alberto Labrador:
When and how do we draw the line as a teacher who uses AI in the classrooms?

All audience are also welcome to ask question in this forum. Thank you.
