At the 5th ICIE Keynote Speaker Session, Dr. Ahmad Badri Abdullah, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, International Institute of Advanced Islamic Studies (IAIS), Malaysia, delivered a speech about Maqasid Approach in Foreign Policy and Contemporary Challenges in Diplomacy. The participants were all excited to learn new insights from Dr. Ahmad Badri Abdullah and are welcomed to share their insight or ask question in this forum. There were some questions and comments from the participants to Dr. Ahmad Badri Abdullah:

Q1) Willi Ashadi -> Salam, allow me to ask the question to Dr Badri. One of the  issue in international relations is Islamophobia. As Moeslem country like Indonesia, Malaysia and Middle East countries, How Maqoshid perspective can be implemented as foreign policy in majority Moeslem country to combat of Islamophobia. Q2) Usman Mohammed -> How can the Maqasid approach inform foreign policy decisions to promote human well being and global stability?
Q3) Usman Mohammed -> How can the Maqasid approach inform diplomatic responses to terrorism and extremism?
Q4) MALAYSIA _Mamdukh Budiman ->How can the Maqashid al-Shariah (objectives of Islamic law) framework be practically applied to foreign policy without compromising the pragmatism required in international relations? In a world dominated by state interests and power politics, is it possible to maintain consistency between the ethical and universal objectives of Maqashid and the realpolitik demands of foreign policy?
