Q1) Willi Ashadi, SHI., MA. -> Asslamaulaikum wr wb. Good to see You Prof Ian. I am Willi Ashadi, from department of International Relations Universitas Islam Indonesia, Yogyakarta. After hearing the explanation from You, as a Global South country like Indonesia, nowadays we are facing 2 the great power namely US and China. What can we do to make good deal politic between US and China through Islamic perspective and foreign relations and diplomacy. Thanks
Q2) MALAYSIA _Mamdukh Budiman -> Dear Prof, How does the tension between Islamic epistemology—which emphasizes divine knowledge and moral universality—and the pragmatic demands of international relations, such as realpolitik and national interests, influence Indonesia’s foreign policy in its engagement with both the Muslim world and non-Muslim-majority states? Further, how does this dual approach shape Indonesia’s role as a mediator in global conflicts, particularly in balancing ideological commitments with geopolitical realities? (Mamdukh Budiman-Cnd PhD Islamic Studies Universiti Muhammadiyah Malaysia )
